| My name is Chris McNeil and I am a Boston based singer/songwriter. Thanks for stopping by. This is the story of Christmas Morn. Twenty-four years ago on Christmas Eve, I was laying on my couch watching TV. I had the thought that “Hey, I’m a songwriter. I should write a Christmas Song”. I promptly fell asleep! I woke the next day and there was a song going through my head. I got up and wrote down the words, picked up the guitar and started singing the song “Christmas Morn”. It is one of the best Christmas presents I’ve ever received. I recorded the song the following year and brought it to WATD, a local radio station in Marshfield Mass., where it was played ten times a day on the days leading up to Christmas. It was quite a thrill. Equally exciting is that the song has been downloaded over 545,000 times from 87 different countries since it was originally posted in 2004. The amazing thing is that people somehow found the song on this site as well as on my chrismcneil.com website with no advertising. Somehow someone got the word out and now it’s being enjoyed throughout the world. It’s quite a mystery but I am very glad that people are listening. Thanks for listening. Merry Christmas! Peace, Chris Please visit my main website at http://www.chrismcneil.com. |
| Christmas Morn It’s Christmas morn, the first light of dawn, ‘Tis the day that Christ is born. A frosty chill in the air, Feel the joy everywhere. Joy, ’tis the day that Christ is born. Sing out, Joy to the World, it’s Christmas morn. There’s a light covering of twinkling snow, It’s the white Christmas we were dreaming of Sleigh bells ring a ling, ding a ling Church bells and the people singing… Joy, ’tis the day that Christ is born. Sing out, Joy to the World, it’s Christmas morn. The little children with their eyes so bright, Opening their gifts with pure delight. “Oh Mom, Oh Dad, look what I got.” “Oh thank you, Santa” and the parent hearts fill with… Joy, ’tis the day that Christ is born. Sing out, Joy to the World, it’s Christmas morn. Now Peace on earth, good will to men, To all our families and all our friends. Feel the spirit of the infant boy. It’s Christmas, time to share the joy. Joy, ’tis the day that Christ is born. Sing out, Joy to the World, it’s Christmas morn. Chris McNeil Copyright 1999 | |
